My Top 80 Photographs After 13 Years of Documenting Agriculture - Overcoming The Pain Through Storytelling
Over the past 20 years, I have dedicated the majority of my life’s work to documenting my hometown in Northern California. The people, places, and moments that shape what we call home continue to inspire me deeply—these moments are beautiful, meaningful, and worth preserving. We help agricultural organizations preserve and communicate identity over time.
Over the last 13 years, this passion has led me to spend the last decade telling stories within the wine and agriculture industries. I’m endlessly inspired by agriculture—not just how it’s grown, but by the people behind it, the terroir that defines it, and the legacy that carries it forward.
A pain point I’ve found on the consumer side of the wine industry is that the younger generation has not yet developed a deep respect for the land and the incredible fruit it is capable of producing, which is and should be very concerning to everyone, especially since it is what makes Northern CA so magical. Many people do not fully understand the process, the luck, and the dedication required to cultivate world-class fruit, vegetables, dairy and meat right here in Northern CA — the very place they call home.
They haven’t been given enough opportunities to truly experience the connection between the people, land, the topography, and the agricultural practices that make this region so special. They are missing the history, the human stories, and the deeper meaning behind the craft. Those stories are not being passed down in a way that aligns with how younger generations naturally consume and engage with information today.
The solution is to meet them where they are. I believe it is part of my calling to help preserve and share these stories through thoughtful, digestible, educational, and inspiring photography and video. My goal is to create work that helps younger audiences gain perspective and recognize the true value of wine — not just as a product, but as something that brings people together, enhances gatherings and experiences, and cultivates joy among close friends and family. A way of life we need to protect, preserve, and nurture for the success of our region.
Hearing and documenting stories rooted in the land, and featuring the individuals who steward it, has impacted me in ways I never expected. It has shaped not only my work, but my perspective.
The collection of photographs below represents my most impactful work to date, spanning the years of my career.
Enjoy.
