Posting To Social - Best Practices

How to Maximize Your Social Media Posts

  1. Use the Edits App for posting/editing reels (or native platform tools)
This app allows you to fine-tune cuts, add closed captions, add music, text overlays and color adjustments.

  2. Include closed captions (CC) on videos
Many people watch without sound—captions keep them engaged and improve retention. Always add these to reels where someone is talking on camera

  3. Always add music
Even if your video includes voiceover, add music at a low volume. It boosts reach and keeps viewers engaged, and softens transitions between cuts. Choose brand-appropriate music.

  4. Write strong captions
Use ChatGPT or similar tools to draft and refine captions that are clear, engaging, and aligned with your brand voice. Spell Check and include calls to action or invite them to engage with you on every post.

  5. Prioritize Reels for growth
Reels are the best way to reach new audiences. Aim to post them consistently.

  6. Use photo carousels for engagement
Carousels are great for storytelling and tend to perform well with your existing audience.

  7. Tag collaborators and brands
Always tag anyone involved (partners, brands, people) to increase visibility and encourage cross-promotion.

  8. Tag your location
Add the location of your business or where the content was captured to improve discoverability.

  9. Share your post to your Story immediately
This gives your post an extra push and keeps it top of mind for your audience. Use stickers like links, polls, or mentions when relevant.

  10. Directly share your post with others
Send your post via DM to 5–10 people who would genuinely enjoy it, with a quick personal note. This can significantly boost early engagement and encourage re sharing as well as providing solutions for individual people that are top of mind.

Have fun!
